We moved you to your toddler bed on 3/9 and have been doing really well with the transition so far. We hope it continues. You get out of bed at least once around 4 and we just put you back and you normally go back to sleep. You also love to just hang out in your bed. You know your room is yours and when Calli or Rocky are in there you'll go over to them and say, "No! Mine!" You're a mess.
I forgot to mention last month that Ms. Katie had to close her daycare so you started going to Ms. Jen's and you are doing great with the transition. I think it's been semi-easy because you know them and you really like her boys. At the end of the month you started going through a phase (and you're still in it) where you will sometimes cry at drop off. It breaks my heart, but I know that you really do have a great time there. You're always doing crafts and you potted cilantro and basil for momma and it's growing like crazy.
You still love to color and paint and will ask to do so.
You peed on the potty a couple of times. We haven't gotten serious about potty training, but most likely in the next couple of months we will. We will get down to business probably in July after we get back from Alaska. It would be nice not to have to even pack diapers so I guess we will see. We have a four day weekend in May so we MIGHT try then, but I just don't even know.
You love talking on the phone. Ms. Jen has a Spanish fisher price phone and that's one of your favorite toys at their house. You have a planes phone and you love it. You also love talking to your Gigi and Papa.
There was one night we were at dinner and you were repeating all the words we asked. It's so fun to get you to do that.
You wave at everyone and say hi. Sometimes it makes me sad when people don't respond (I know I am "that" mom!!!!!) to you, but I think it's SO, SO sweet.
Your wave is out of control and quite possibly the cutest wave I've ever seen anyone do. So silly and animated.
You are getting SO much better on your bike and now that the weather is starting to get nicer and the evenings are staying light later I think you're going to really start doing awesome with it. I've been getting lots of questions about the strider balance bike and I totally think they're worth the money. Dominick started out rocky, but has totally progressed. We have friends with a 2.5 year old who successfully rides a two wheel bike with no training wheels. That's amazing to me considering most kids are just starting to ride tricycles. I'm not sure if Dominick will be at that stage, but I am just happy we won't have to go through the tricycle stage. :) They're worth the money!
We hadn't been to church since around Christmas. It seems like we've had a lot of sick weekends and while it's no excuse we've been BUSY. Anyways, when we pulled into the parking lot you raised your hands and said, "YAYYYYYY!". You were happy to be back until we left you in the nursery and you cried through the whole service and I had to go get you. Poor nugget.
You've picked up a few new words, names and animal sounds this month. You can say Jacob and sometimes you will say Andres, but mostly you just say, "play" when we say his name. We asked you to say Lo and you called her Flow. :) You learned what a chicken says and also pig. I think that might be all for this month. I'm not even sure what words you picked up this month since you talk all the time.
You are so good and mostly pretty obedient. You still love playing in the dog water though. It amazes me how much you've grown this last month and how much you actually listen. You still throw quite the tantrum, but I've noticed it's mostly when you're tired.
You LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being outdoors. Anytime we ask you you are SO ready. Whether we're playing on your bike, at the park, in your truck or just playing, you are definitely happiest when we are outside. I think we are going to get a pool pass this summer so I have a feeling we will spend quite a bit of time there. I'm also very excited to take you to Alaska and for you to enjoy a different kind of outdoors.
You wear size 24 months and 2T in almost everything. You still fit into some of your 18 month pants and shirts, but we're transitioning you into bigger sizes.
We were behind on your 18 month shots, but you got those this past month as well so I guess you're technically not that far behind. You also had your 18 month appointment and you were: 27 lbs and 33 in
You are SO strong and are such a little monkey. One week at the park you weren't able to hang from the monkey bars or the rings and the next week I told your daddy to try again and sure enough you could hold yourself for a good 10+seconds at a time. You LOVED it. You LOVE to climb.
Like I said above, you LOVE to climb and jump and are so, so adventurous. You have no fear. You love to jump off things into our arms. You jump on the bed, the couch and your anywhere chair. You climb into your high chair when it's time to eat and jump down when dinner's done. You give me more gray hairs EVERY single day, but I love that you're so confident and willing to try.
You have become more hesitant around people, even those that you've known since you were born. I took you to Ryan's shop for a lunch "party" and you've been there SO many times and grew up being around these people, but were scared. You backed up into me and did want anything to do with anyone else. You eventually warm up, but you are very slow to warm up to people these days. I'm hoping this phase doesn't last too long.
You are SUCH a happy monkey. Everyone always comments on how contagious your laugh and smile are and how happy you always are. You really do have such a funny personality and I am so glad you're always happy.
You got to experience your first Build-A-Bear and you are obsessed with that little puppy who's name is Izzo. You carry around Snug and Izzo and they're your two best pals.
Mrs. Jen says that you're using your words at daycare so much more and I've noticed at home too. It's a blessing for all of us.
We took you bowling on 3/21 for the first time you were just tickled with the glow bowl. You loved "helping" us and we are hoping to take you a couple times a month now.
You love to drink out a big boy cup and at daycare you mostly just drink your water from a real cup instead of your water bottle.
You just love your daddy and have so much fun with him. You remind me so much of him and its' so neat to watch you look up to him the way you do. When he walks in the door you always run to him and get so excited. You love being around him
You give kisses and hugs and have the sweetest little personality.
When it's time to go to bed you give your daddy hugs and kisses and still hold my hand to your room. Some times you RUN into your room and hop in bed with your milk (bad habit). You give me kisses and then normally lay right now with all of your lovies.
I always tell you I love you, and you, and you and you while pointing to his nose, both sides of his chest and then lastly his belly button. Sometimes you'll come up to me and point and say you, you, you, you! It's SO cute
I'm obsessed with you, little one. Your daddy and I are constantly asking each other what we ever did before we had you, what we talked about, what entertained us, what we thought about because you're on our minds 100%. We LOVE you more than words can explain and hope you never question that. We pray for you daily and we just love watching you grow and learn every single day. You have our whole hearts and we are SO thankful God chose us to be your parents. Love you to the moon and back, little mister.
