Friday!

+Dominick is going to be turning three in just 2 weeks and 6 days. He has been real fun when we bring it up. The other day we told him his birthday was coming up and he said, "Happy Birthday? Dominick get cake? Presents?" He totally knows what this is all about, but please don't mind me while I'm crying like a baby. THREE people. THREE! He asked for a red cake and as for gifts he said a train, a plane, a BIG HUGE RED DINOSAUR, a farm and animals.

+I have started a new little gig to occupy some of my time. I had a couple friends ask me to design some birthday invites for their kids. More info coming soon. :)

+Next week my niece is coming to spend the majority of the week with me and then we will take her back to Michigan. I have so much I want to do with her, but I don't think there will be enough time. She will have to come visit us again soon. I'm taking her to see One Direction in Columbus (she's 10) and we will most likely go on a few other adventures while she's here. We will head to MI on Friday and are having a small family party (as in just my parents, one of my brothers and his family) for Dom's birthday and then Saturday we are going to the Kenny Chesney concert in Detroit. I'm pretty excited to say the least.
+When we lived in California our little space was in the middle of nowhere so getting anywhere was far and took a lot of time. Where we live in Ohio we are close to TONS of things and are finding it to be quite family friendly (don't get me wrong I pray to all things Holy that this is not our last stop along the way). We've spent a lot of our summer at the splash pads and it's been fun finding new things to do and places to go.
+Yesterday we were at the post office near our house and Dominick saw a man in uniform and started running towards him yelling "Daddy!" I told him it wasn't his dad and that Ryan was at work. The guy was in line ahead of us and Dom goes, "DADDY! What you doing, daddy? DADDDYYYYY!" I told him again that wasn't his daddy. He responds, "Oh. Daddy at work?" It doesn't happen as much as it used to, but it still does on occasion. At least this time it wasn't an older Asian man with a mustache because that happened too.

+Dom's been potty trained since mid March except during nap and bed times (both pee and poop). When he learned how to pee standing up which was around May he started having poop accidents. He would legit wait until he would have his pull up on at nap time, we would lay him down, leave and about 20 minutes later would hear him yelling for me. Sure enough he was dirty. It's still been happening and he knows that's not what he was supposed to do and can even tell you where he's SUPPOSED to go, but it still happens. I told him that if he went in the potty five time I would buy him something special. It only took a month (probably closer to 6 weeks) for it to happen, but we finally reached five yesterday. Any suggestions? We make him "try" before nap and bed time, we ask him throughout the day and we can't "watch for cues" because it's when he's laying down fixin to take a nap. It would be entirely different if he was calling us so he could go, but it's already after the fact.

Currently

I don't have anything good to write today, but wanted to post SOMETHING. I saw a few currently posts going around so here it goes...

Reading: The Husbands Secret by Liane Moriarty - I've been reading this since the beginning of July and I just can't REALLY get into it. I read a lot on the plane to Vegas, but I was too tired to do any more reading so I slept 98% of my flights.

Playing: Country...especially this song. LOVE!!

Watching: A lot of Netflix. Scandal Reruns and One Tree Hill
I'm TOTALLY team Fitz. Sue me.
Trying: to apply for jobs like crazy. After being in Ohio for 6 months and summer winding down it's definitely time.

Cooking: these chicken wings tonight for dinner. SO yummy!

Drinking: flavored sparkling water. It's my FAVE

Texting: Right now I'm texting Ryan, but on the reg I text my California babes all day errday, some other mom friends and my mom a whole lot.

Tweeting: I'm almost never on twitter. :S

Pinning: recipes and Dominick's third birthday party ideas. We are having a small, small, small party for him with my family in a couple weeks so I'm just having fun pinning some ideas.

Going: to a a couple concerts later this month! Super excited for that! I'm taking my almost 10 year old niece to a One Direction concert (haha) and then Ry and I are going to the Kenny Chesney concert in the D.

Thinking: my accident came at the worst possible time ever. Not that there is ever a good time to have an accident, but mine really did come at a bad time.

Loving: my Lilly agenda

Hating: the tantrums, attitude, fake cries, picky eating and constant testing coming from Dominick right now. I sure hope this stage passes and soon. I think we've hit the threenagers a few months early. Someone tell me four is better!
He looks so sweet and happy, right? He's a wild one!
Enjoying: my new car, but already dreading the payments that go with it. :)

A Little Update

+Last week has pretty much been one for the books and not in a good way. Tuesday was one of the worst days I've ever had (and most expensive). I had to have a crown placed on one of my teeth due to a cracked filling and afterwards I went to pick up Dominick. We headed to lunch at "The Pepper" aka Chili's because he loves that they have the tablets on each table (super engaging for us, I know). After lunch I needed to grab a prescription from on base so we were headed there. Dom and I were going about our day and I was making a left hand turn and didn't see a truck coming (long story short he was in a blind spot behind another car making a left turn in the opposite direction). We ended up totaling my car, but Dominick and I were just fine and that's the important thing.

+On a happier note, I ordered a Lilly Pulitzer medium agenda and to say I love it is an understatement. It's so fun and bright and it's the perfect size for me. I loved my EC planner, but I hated the size of it so I've been looking for a replacement for quite awhile and I think I'm really going to love it.

+It's been hot here in Ohio (with lots of rain) lately so we have spent quite a bit of time at the splash pads and pools near our house. Some of them are free and some we pay for, but it's cheap, easy and fun entertainment.

+There's a dairy farm about 20 minutes away and it's a LOT of fun. They have a putt putt golf area, batting cages, a small kids area with an inflatable slide and other fun things and a "train" ride". Of course there's ice cream, a small restaurant and goats and cows you can see. I took Dominick there the day before I left for Las Vegas and he had the BEST time. We spent a few hours there and he rode the train probably 12 times...at least.

See Ya July

July started out really amazing at the lake shore and ended pretty crappy. August is a new month so we are really looking forward to spending the month with our TWO year old because next month is BIRTHDAY MONTH for a certain little baby man.
July 16: I was leaving the next day for Vegas so we spent the morning at the splash pad and the afternoon at Young's Dairy getting spoiled
July 17: in the sky on my way to Vegas
July 22: We went to the playground near our house
July 24: At a "learning" farm. Dom LOVED playing on the tractors and running around. His favorite part of the day was the kitties and playing in the dirt.
July 28: We had an early morning at the splash pad to burn some errands
July 27: He asked me to hold him like a baby and so of course I did.
July 28: The worst day ever! And most expensive
July 29: The result of the worst and most expensive day ever. Dom and I were okay (thankfully)
July 29: It was DOWN POURING so we ran outside and played in the rain, jumped in puddles and laughed and laughed.
July 31: We walked to the playground to burn some energy off before nap time.
