Escondido Falls

Ryan and I actually really enjoy hiking, but we haven't gone much. I think our last hike was Hollywood in April 2013. We are usually really busy on the weekends so we don't often go. This spring we decided we would try a few new trails (sadly, we've only been once) so on April 26th we made the trek to Malibu and hiked Escondido Falls. It was a short 4 mile hike and quite shaded. Dominick ended up walking a little over 2 miles of it by himself. He was such a trooper and we got SO many compliments. He said hi to every person who passed us or we passed and was just SO happy that whole day. The kid LOVES being outdoors and honestly, I cannot blame him. If you get a chance and are in Southern California I highly suggest going. There's not all that much scenery, but it was a good little hike for our family of 3. I have more pictures, but haven't uploaded them yet.

Mother's Day 2014

This year on Mother's Day we couldn't decide what we wanted to do. We finally made plans to go to Glendale and go shopping at the Galleria and Americana, but at the last minute our friends said they were going to Santa Monica so of course we tagged along and had the absolute best time. I think we may continue doing it every single year that we are in California. Instead of going to the pier we went to a playground right on the beach between Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Ryan didn't want to do much walking since he had a pass test the next day so the pier and promenade was out of the question.

The playground was the perfect size for the boys and we had a picnic lunch. It was SUPER windy (and felt like we never left the desert) and most people were leaving the beach, but we enjoyed playing.

It was the best day!

Dominick's Dedication

On May 10th we dedicated Dominick at church. We were going to dedicate Dominick much earlier, but truthfully we didn't have a church that we went to regularly so we didn't want to just do it to do it. We actually attend church on Saturday evenings instead of Sunday mornings since it's quite a drive and we are normally always in town anyways on Saturdays. It makes it easier to only go to town one day versus two. After church we had Korean BBQ with some of our friends. I'm so glad that we were finally able to dedicate him and he looked so precious.

Easter 2014

Obviously, I am SUPER far behind and I really don't have any good excuse. I've been so busy at work and then when I get home I am still busy doing the mom and housewife thing that blogging just gets pushed to the back burner. Not to mention I really like water marking my photos, but I don't have the time to sit down and do it let alone edit them. So I figured if I want to blog something's got to give and the watermark it is. I guess if people want my photos THAT bad then they're still going to have to work for it because I have the right click function disabled. With that said...here was our Easter this year.

Friday night we went to a small town nearby and had Mexican. When we were there the mayor was asking if we were going to be coming back for their Easter event. We had no idea what it as, but it's a free event and there was a parade, Easter Egg Hunt for each age group and some other fun things going on all on Saturday morning.

Saturday we all decided to go. Ryan was volunteering at a triathlon so two of my friends and I all took our kids. We had a great time. The event was completely free and they had an egg hunt for multiple age groups. Unfortunately (or fortunately) we missed it for Dominick's age group, but he didn't care one single bit. They had hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, games, bounce houses and so much more. For a free, small town event it was pretty fun. Dominick especially loved the snow cone and balloon he got.

On Sunday we woke up pretty early and gave Dominick his Easter basket. He was pretty excited about his new cars, granola bars and fruit snacks. He did get a few other things, but those were what he seemed most excited about.

That afternoon we headed to our friends house for Easter lunch and a small egg hunt. We had a great time with great friends and Dominick found 4 eggs and gave 2 of them away. He was just thrilled to be with his friends. Maybe next year we will do a legit hunt at our house for him.

I hope you all had
