The Beginning of January

We started this year off with friends watching our poor Spartans get their butts kicked against Alabama. Aside from that it was a good night and Dominick stayed up until almost 2 AM! As soon as we got in the car to go home he was PASSED out. He is a party animal and never wants to miss out on any of the fun.

Friday we had plans to take him to the Columbus Zoo to see the Wild Lights display, but he was SO tired from the night before that we just didn't think it was a stellar idea so we went Saturday instead. We left afternoon and were only at the zoo for a couple hours. Honestly, we barely saw all the lights. It was COLD! My parents got us a family pass to the zoo this year and we are very excited to spend some time there this weekend. It's fun because we can just go and there's no pressure to see everything or spend the whole day there. They also have a lot of other fun things besides JUST animals.

Dom's class has been learning about emergency vehicles so the other day McGruff and a couple of cops came by his school. He got to see the inside of the cop car and even press a bunch of buttons. He thought that part was pretty awesome.

A couple weekends Ryan went out duck hunting with his friends so Dom and I had a little day date. We went to the bookstore (and got a TON of Christmas books for 50% off) and froyo. He had a great time.

That same weekend we started getting snow and Dom woke up DYING to go play in it. It was COLD outside so I tried to hold him off, but after his nap he was begging me so we bundled up and went out there. There was barely enough snow covering the ground, but we pulled out a sled and he went down our TINY little hill in the yard and had the best time.

It seems like winter has finally arrived in Ohio and we're counting down the days until Spring and crossing our fingers it comes early.
