What We've Been Up To

Ryan and I have been so busy recently that I find little time to get online from a few seconds here or there. We can definitely tell that spring has sprung and summer is nearing since our lives have become jammed packed with things going on.

First, lets just get this out of the way. The temperatures have been in the 80s or 90s nearly every day. The other day on my way to work it was already 79; which means the air has been going full force in our house. We had a day where it was windy and probably barely made it to 80. We considered this day to be "cold". Since we had very little rain during the rainy months (which have already passed) Ryan suspects there will be lots of wild fires this summer. We happened to just miss the rainy season last year, but we still saw 3 or 4 and one was quite a large one that ruined lots of property in Tehachapi.

Ryan started school back up, which is really exciting and will be good for his career in the AF (and out if he chooses). He spent a night in L.A. 2 weeks ago to take 2 CLEP tests. He passed both, so he after this semester he'll have his CCAF and he'll go right into his Bachelors. I'm honestly not sure what the name of his degree will be, but something for bio.

Our weekends have been spent at BBQs, a 1st birthday party and running errands. This past weekend was a whirlwind...one I'll get into later.

We spent Mother's Day lounging around and spending time in Palmdale. After seeing a commercial for Red Robin we ended up there for lunch and doing a little shopping. We skyped and talked with our parents.

This past weekend started with leaving work early to spend the afternoon in labor and delivery. I can't say that I was excited and I honestly did everything to not have to go. My doctors didn't agree and they sent me with a free ticket. Everything is fine and I have a dr.'s appointment on Tuesday (my regularly scheduled appointment). Thursday morning I started having a lot of pulling, stretching and cramping. I've had this before, but it always goes away. It just seemed to get worse and whenever I walked it would get real bad. So I figured I'd just spend the night lounging around and if it goes worse again I'd call my doctor. My friend told me that it was better to call and talk to the nurse, so I did. She thought maybe I had a bladder infection and to go to L&D. Since I'm stubborn, I asked if I could just be seen by my PCM so I called and made an appointment for Friday. On Friday I went and she said everything looked fine with my lab work, but to still go to L&D. I wasn't feeling horrible on Friday and I don't even remember the feelings I was feeling the day before. I begged and pleaded (who wants to be the girl who is constantly going to L&D), but she still told me I needed to go. So, I went into Ryan's office, told him I needed a ride and off we went. Knowing nothing was wrong, we made plans to meet up with a friend for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. We spent about 3.5 hours at L&D before they finally released me. On the bright side, we got to hear Dom and he was moving all over the place.

Saturday I had a girls day planned and we went shopping, had lunch at Olive Garden, ran some errands and went to see What To Expect When You're Expecting. It was a great day out, but I was glad to get home and relax.
Last night I started making this wreath from pinterest. It's almost finished, I just need to glue on my buttons.

Have any of you read Fifty Shades of Grey? I honestly don't know how I feel about these books. I have to say the second one is WAY better than the first. The author does not leave any room for imagination and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to complete the 1st book. I'm sure I'll read the last one while on vacation.

We have a busy week preparing to head home. We're excited, but there's so much going on that I don't think we'll be able to relax until we're sitting on the plane. We've never left Calli and Rocky for so long and we're a little nervous. Thankfully, our pet sitter is also a great friend and we trust they'll be in great hands!

If you made it this far, that's great! For all our families and friends in Michigan, we will be seeing you shortly!

I can't imagine dealing with the heat where you are! I'm glad nothing was seriously wrong! I liked the 50 Shades of Grey but I didn't like the first one. I had a really hard time making it through but I liked the second two. Mainly because it wasn't as focused on that!

There you are! For some reason I couldn't get on your blog and had lost you. I was wondering about you and how you were feeling and your pregnancy was going!
