Our 1st Year

Ryan and I have officially lived in California for an entire year. It hasn't always been easy, but we're trying to make the most of our time here. We honestly are counting the days Here are 12 fun things we've been able to do this past year (in no particular order to favorites):

1. The 1st Carrier Classic on the USS Carls Vinson on Veteran's Day.

2. My parents coming to visit twice. We were able to see Santa Monica, the Sequoia National Park and around our little area we call home.

3. We went to the American Country Awards in Las Vegas.

4. My Aunt and Uncle coming to stay with us.

5. Making a trip across the country. We drove through Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa (1st stop), Nebraska, Colorado (2nd Stop; we also were able to watch the footage of the President announcing Bin Laden was killed), Utah, Arizona, Nevada (3rd stop) and California in a matter of 3.5 days with 2 vehicles, 2 dogs and the 2 of us.

6. We found out we were expecting our first baby, that he was a boy and started planning for the big arrival.

7. Ryan was able to go to the Rose Bowl. He had a great day!

8. We hosted our 1st Thanksgiving with friends. Celebrated our 1st Christmas together since being married, our 2nd Christmas beig married and our 1st away from family. Our 1st anniversary in October. Ryan's 1st anniversary in the USAF in November. 4th of July at a rodeo instead of on the beach in Pentwater. And many other holidays.

9. We went to the Dodgers game and to Koreatown. One of the hottest days in LA (I'm pretty sure-ha)

 

10. We spent a couple of days fishing. Once in Tehachapi and once at Lake Isabella.

11. We moved into our house and have been making it a home every since.

12. We made a quick trip home in June for our vow renewal and it was one of our FAVORITE days to date. Thank you AGAIN to everyone who made our day so memorable and fun.

Not everything that we've done has been overly exciting, but we have been able to do things we never would have had we been somewhere else. We're thankful for our opportunities here and for all the fun adventures year 2 will bring!
