This was Dominick's first Easter and we had high hopes. My mom was coming to town the day before, we had a list of things to buy for his basket, we had to buy his first basket and the list goes on. As it began approaching we would always put off buying his goodies for "next weekend" until it was the week of Easter and we still hadn't bought a thing. Major Momma and Daddy fail. On the other hand I had ordered him such a cute little basket!
It was the week of Easter and that meant two things 1. my momma was coming and 2. we HAD to get our butts in gear and buy everything. Well the beginning of the week I started losing all my energy and was sleeping almost every night by 8:30 on the couch. I thought my late night and early morning routines were catching up to me. By Thursday I woke up and told Ryan that I was feeling like my body was failing me and I was s tired. He said I probably just need to go to bed earlier. That morning I started progressively feeling worse and half way through the day I was running a fever and feeling MISERABLE. I could barely see straight so I left early and picked up Dominick. Thankfully it was his nap time and when we got home I walked in the door, changed and we went to take a nap. We both napped for 3.5 hours and by the time we woke up Ryan was getting home. He took care of Dominick all night why I tried to fight off my fever. I hadn't felt that sick in I don't know how long. I just kept praying to feel better, for my fever to break and to make sure Dominick didn't get sick. By 9:30 my temperature had FINALLY broke and I began feeling better. I took Friday off and still wasn't feeling 100% on Saturday.
Saturday we picked my mom up from the airport around 12:30 and it was SO good to see her. After we picked her up we ran to the mall and to Target to fill Dominick's basket. I didn't get EVERYTHING I had wanted to fill Dominick's basket, but I think it was a good basket for a(n) (almost) 7 month old. He picked out the toys and threw a fit in Target as we took them away from him to play with. I think he was happy to see them at home again. The little sunnies are from Carters. I can't remember if my mom or Ryan put them on him jokingly saying he'd never keep them on. Surprisingly he does and we were all amazed. He won't keep them on for more than 15-30 minutes, but it's a start.
Sunday was my mom's birthday. Unfortunately I still wasn't feeling up to par so we headed into Urgent Care. We were all positive I either had an ear infection or strep throat since both had been hurting me. Dominick fell asleep in the car so my mom stayed in there with him...bless her heart. Come to find out I only have a viral infection from my horrible allergies. They prescribed to me zyrtec, but since it's a training day on base I can't pick it up until tomorrow. I made "linner" for everyone and that was our day. We spent most of it playing with Dominick who later started not feeling so well due to teething.
Here's to next Easter, my mom's next visit and birthday where we don't spend time in Urgent Care, we're not teething and we remember to buy basket items not at the last minute. If nothing else I'm just glad we got to spend it with my mom and wish my dad could have been here too.
