Myrtle Beach

We had been trying to figure out a place to go for a family vacation before Ryan left on his deployment and finally settled on Myrtle Beach. Our requirements were that it was just the three of us, more relaxation than adventure and had to be close to the beach. We left the 8th of May and came home on the 14th. It was also nice because it was within driving distance for us.

I got a really good deal at the Myrtle Beach Sheraton Plantation and it was perfect location for us. They were little condos and had kitchenettes which worked out perfectly for us. We normally ate breakfast and lunch in the condo and would have dinner out. The resort was perfect as they had a kids pool with a pirate ship, lots of little slides and a big slide, a lazy river and a regular pool as well. There was also a small splash pad and mini golfing all on property. Ryan hit the gym during nap every day and I stayed back with Dom while he napped. We were only a few blocks from the beach so we alternated days on staying at the pool and going to the beach.

The third or fourth night that we were there we took Dominick to the Pirates Voyage Dinner and Show and he was just beside himself. Afterwards we let him call my parents and he talked to them about it for over an hour. This will always be the highlight of our trip for me. I didn't realize how into it he was going to get, but he did great through the whole show and was just so excited.

I love that Dominick is old enough to remember these experiences now because he still talks about our trip and fun things we did during that week. It was the perfect little getaway for us.
