Dominick,

It seems like this month has been a whirlwind for you. Between doctors visits, getting an IV, being sick and the tantrums that you have seemed to learn how to throw it's been interesting. What happened to my anything goes baby?

This month we celebrated your best friends 1st birthday, your daddy's birthday (by being sick), Daddy's 1st Father's Day and started swim class. We surprised your grandparents with a trip to Michigan and that was a lot of fun and a lot of work to pull off.
You did SO good on the plane and in the airport. You slept nearly the entire way both way and we got lots of compliments. I was so proud of you and so thankful you made that trip so easy on your momma. When we were in Michigan you also did so great with all the new people and surroundings. I think it's safe to say that everyone loved you. :) (post to come soon)

For Tanner's birthday we got him a water table and you loved it almost as much as he did. We ordered you one and it is going to be here this week. We are very excited for you to have something to do on the hot summer days outside.

You are doing AWESOME at swim class and you really are loving it. I'm so glad that I thought to get you started in that. I think it might be one of your favorite nights of the week. (another post in the works)

You are still SUCH happy baby and you listen really well. You have a fake laugh and a fake cry that you do that is quite hilarious. You keep us laughing all day long. If we laugh, you laugh just to keep us laughing.
You are also talking SO much. You started to say momma this month and I really love that. You are constantly talking and making noises. You try to repeat sounds and if you can't make the sound you think about it and then will make another noise. You can clap and you raise your arms when you want up or to be thrown in the air. You also dance. Anytime you hear music you start to dance. Sometimes we have dance parties in the kitchen when making dinner and you love it.

Buddy, you definitely are such a delight to be around and so, so funny! You have made our lives complete and we couldn't imagine our days without you. Your smiles and silliness in the mornings make every day a good day. Your hugs and kisses are the sweetest to receive and we love to return them. You are becoming such a handsome and smart little guy. Most people say that you are starting to look more and more like your daddy and less and less like momma. I love that you are such a little lover and that you are such an easy going little guy. You love being on a schedule and that is such a good thing. I don't know how we got so lucky with you, but I am so grateful. God has blessed our family beyond belief. We love you more than any words could ever express.
Love you to the moon and back,
Momma

Last Weekend of June

The last weekend of June was such a fun little one. On Friday we stayed at home. I made dinner and it was really a low key night. The week before we were traveling and we had kind of a little off week since we only were at work or daycare for part of the week.
Saturday morning Dominick and I hung out at home. Ryan spent much of the morning at the gym and doing yard work (despite our 115 degree temperatures). It was such a hot weekend in the desert! Our friends' little boy was turning 4 and they were having a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. I kind of despise that place...the germs and how chaotic it is just doesn't appeal to me. When we got there we weren't sure if there would be many things for Dominick to do, but he actually had a really good time. He ate pizza, rode on the "rides" and we played games and won him some "prizes" . When we left I think we were all a little over stimulated, but it was a good time together.

When we lived in Michigan there was a Chinese place we would frequent at least once a week. It was cheap, SO good and right down the road from us. Since we've moved we cannot find anything that compares, but there is a little Chinese place right off base that we do not mind so I called on our way home and placed an order for pick up. When we got home Dom ate dinner and then we got him ready for bed. After he was down Ryan and I had dinner and then we watched a movie. It was a great little date night in and we rarely ever do things like that so it was a nice change.

Sunday was spent hanging out inside. It was 115 again and just too hot to take Dominick out. Unfortunately that's how most of the summer will be. We have a water table and will be getting him a little pool here shortly so we will be able to spend much of our time outdoors in the shade.
