Dominick,
This month has been a HUGE month for your. You've really developed a lot this month and you're too smart for your own good.
Like I said before you were 100% on whole milk starting on the 7th. We first started you off with mixing the breast milk and whole milk and you barely touched that, but you did okay with either 100% breast milk or 100% whole milk so it made the transition easy. I dropped the morning session and then your night session. It was hard on momma, but it was relatively easy for both of us.
We spent most of our days at home and preparing for our trip to Michigan this past month. We had your cake smash pictures and momma made you an airplane cake and you looked pretty handsome yourself. We also spent many days outside playing in your water table, going to the park and going on wagon rides (an early birthday present).
On the 21st of August we traveled to Michigan and it was pretty much nonstop from the time we landed. You got to go to your first Detroit Tigers game and you even got to meet Paws. You saw him from afar and kept waving to him and saying hi, but when we took you to see him you clung to your daddy and wanted nothing to do with him. We had a family birthday party for you and you got to see so many people. It was a really great time and we loved being surrounded by our family for a night. So fun! We went to a wedding, to see friends, Mooville and took you to your first trip to Pentwater (our favorite lake town in Michigan). Momma and Daddy left you with Gigi and Papa for a double date night with some friends while we were in Michigan. It's only been the second time we've done that and both of them were with the same couple and in Michigan.Your daddy flew back home on the 27th and Gigi, Papa, Momma and you all flew back on the 31st. We spent 9 hours in the air and made 2 stops along the way (Nashville and New Orleans) before finally landing in LA where your Daddy picked us up and we drove to San Diego (what should have been a 2 hour trip ended up being closer to 4 with traffic on the 405 and the 5).
When we were in San Diego we immediately went to Coronado and ate at Five Guys, did some shopping (where Momma found your Halloween costume) and walked around. The next day we went to the San Diego zoo, another naval base and dinner at a "hole in the wall" restaurant that we found. Our last morning in San Diego we made a pit stop to La Jolla Cove to see the seals. It was really beautiful and we had such a great time.
Your vocabulary has really exploded this month. Some of the things you say or are close to saying are: sit, sit ___ (Mostly 'sit dog'), dog (you call every animal a dog), Momma, Dadda, Gigi, Papa, thank you, see it, uh oh, woo woo (woot, woot while fist pumping), hi (and you will put your first, toys, phones up to your ear and say hi like you're talking on the phone), bye, this, ball, book, stinky stinky, wasdat (what's that? and you point to what you're referring to), eye, bubble and I'm sure there are more that I'm just not able to think of right now.You also try to mimic everything was say or noises we make. On your 1 year birthday you learned how to roar like a lion and I'm obsessed with getting you to do that. It's super, super cute.
You've been waving to people a while, but you wave to EVERYONE now. If we tell you to say hi or bye you will get whatever it is out of your hands so you can wave and say hi or bye.You clap whenever we say yay, you do something you are proud of or when you are in trouble and you want to be cute and we do something that you like (or when we sing songs/play games). You also learned how to give kisses and will say "mmmmmuah" and you also blow kisses as well and say "mmmmuah". It's so stinking cute.
About 95% of the time you are easy going, happy and care free, but this month you have been big on hitting or throwing things when you are mad. We've been trying to work with you on it, but it's been a challenge for you all month. You're doing better when we tell you no hitting, but you still do it. I know you're just trying to express yourself, but I also wouldn't mind if you learned not to do that.
You are quite the explorer and love to walk everywhere. If we say we're going to get you, you go as fast as your little legs will allow and run away. You don't like being in your stroller too much, but once you don't see me you are fine. You love going for walks in your wagon and think that's pretty cool. If we are coming after you, you now "run" as fast as your little legs will let you and your hands in the air.
You found your eyes and love to point to them. I think you like feeling your eye lashes on your finger because you're so gentle and keep pointing and fluttering your eye lashes. You also have found your nose and if we ask you where it is at you will pick it (haha).

You are a great eater most days, but there are times when you just don't care for food. It's not that you don't like the food it's just that you're not interested. Your favorite food is definitely red grapes; I'm pretty certain that you would eat a whole bag if we let you. We also think that breakfast is your favorite meal. I'm thankful you're such a great eater.
You still are a great flier and really like to look out the window. You did get antsy on our flight back to California, but I honestly cannot blame you. We had 2 stops along the way, but you did great and I was so proud of you. We get lots of compliments on how good you are and that makes us super happy.
You love to play outside and will go to the sliding doors and cry or pound on them if someone is out there and you want to go. You also love to go to the park and slide. You slide by yourself down the big slides and you LOVE it. Whenever we pass by you always look back and point out the park.

Buddy, I don't think I will ever be able to tell you how much I love you. You are absolutely the best gift that I've ever received and we are so blessed to have you as our son. We cannot imagine our lives without you and are so excited to see what this next year brings. We love you to the moon and back.
Love,
Momma
