Pumpkin Patch

Every year Ryan and I get super excited about the pumpkin patch and always leave disappointed. I'm pretty sure this has to do with the fact that we're in California and not in Michigan. This year we decided to try one about an hour and a half away from us near the canyons and closer to Los Angeles called Lombardi Ranch; we went on October 20th. It was the best one we've visited, but it was super busy...and HOT!

Since we were going with 2 other families we decided to meet at the mall since we would be there already and grab some lunch. We ended up eating at a BBQ restaurant and it was so good. We finally go to the ranch around 1. They had a live band playing, wagon rides, train rides, pumpkins to pick from, a petting zoo, some food vendors and more (obviously everything cost money...except to hear the band). We walked through Scarecrow Alley (which was free) and it was a path through a sunflower field that had different kinds of scarecrows throughout. They were all made with some sort of theme in mind (minions, duck dynasty, a baking theme) which was kind of neat to see. Dominick picked out a little pumpkin for him to paint and love climbing the hay bales. He was SUPER dirty by the time we left.

Lombardi was by far the best one that we've been to since we've been in California. If we happen to be here next Halloween we will try a different one. Since our baby man had a good time I call that a win!

I think we have a winner!!!!

Family Pictures

I felt really horrible considering we have only gotten "professional" pictures taken once since Dominick was born and that was at Christmas time with Dom was only around 3 months old. When we were home in June for our surprise visit we tried to schedule something for just pictures of Dominick, but unfortunately we ran out of time. I knew when we were home in August that we HAD to have some portraits made because it's just been too long. I happen to LOVE how they turned out and can't wait to get a few on canvases for the house.

It's funny that we hadn't had any pictures taken in SO long and we had these done in August and are having another session next week for our Christmas card pictures. We won't have any more made probably until we go back to Michigan this summer so I guess that's okay...can you ever have TOO many pictures?

So here are my favorites...they were taken by Stacy from Remember When... Photography.

Have a wonderful weekend!
